Through the development of 8 advocacy campaigns, we have produced important and lasting changes within the target communities: 400 people were involved in public consultations, 19,533 citizens were mobilized and involved in advocacy campaigns, and 206,009 individuals were informed about the causes of the campaigns and about the activities carried out. In this way, communities have developed organizational skills, learned about success stories and results on local level to encourage their initiative spirit. There have also been changes at the level of public policy decisions through which the environment is protected based on community-led changes.
