We have constituted an anti-waste coalition, consisting of 20 NGOs, of which 8 already carried out activities to capitalize the food surplus. We also conducted a nationwide study on sources and causes of food waste as well as possible solutions to reduce it. Also in this initiative we have drafted the decision for the approval of the methodological norms for the enforcement of the Law no 217/2016 – Law on the reduction of food waste. We have also conducted an advocacy campaign to promote the inclusion on the government agenda of the anti-waste measures resulting from the study mentioned above. With the support of 20 volunteers, we have organized a community meal for the benefit of 150 people from vulnerable groups, with food collected from donations. We also have organized an educational caravan in 6 cities across the country and a documentary on food waste in Romania.
