“A fulfilled life with diabetes" – Developing an integrated social-medical services for improving life skills of children and youth with insulin-dependent diabetes from 7 counties

Approximately 180 children and young people with diabetes enjoyed therapeutic recreation in camps specially organized throughout the project. We have developed methods and tools for therapeutic recreation and have prepared over 70 volunteers to provide personalized assistance to these children. A multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, teachers and social workers has provided information and advice to more than 200 families from various counties to help children with diabetes develop life skills abilities.
